The 1746-ITB16 is a 16-point, 24V DC fast response sink input module designed for use with SLC 500 modular and fixed hardware. The module consists of 16 input points organized in a single group with one common return terminal, operating within a sink voltage range of 10 to 30V DC.

This module features a maximum signal delay of 0.3 ms for both off-to-on and on-to-off transitions, providing higher speed sensing than standard DC input modules. It interfaces directly with the SLC backplane, drawing a maximum of 85 mA at 5V DC, and supports field wiring via a removable terminal block for #14 to #22 AWG wire sizes.

The 1746-ITB16 module must be installed or removed from the SLC 500 chassis only when the power is turned off to prevent damage to the backplane. The module is a sinking configuration; therefore, the sourcing field device must be connected between the input terminal and the DC positive supply, with the common terminal (DC COM) connected to the DC negative. All wiring must be routed away from high-voltage lines and sharp edges, and the terminal screws must be tightened to a maximum torque of 0.9 Nm (8 lb-in.) to ensure reliable electrical contact.
