The 1771-OB incorporates 1500V AC opto-isolation to isolate electromagnetic noise, such as inductive back-EMF from field loads, from the PLC-5 CPU backplane bus. Mechanically, the module includes a 1771-WA field wiring arm for front-access maintenance and features 8 independent green LED status indicators on the front panel to display the logical on/off state of each output channel. With a maximum power dissipation of 16.9W and a thermal dissipation rating of 57.6 BTU/hr, it operates continuously under full load across a temperature range of 0 to 60 °C and a non-condensing relative humidity range of 5% to 95%.
