Input Filter Frequency Selection:The module's input filter frequency (50 Hz, 60 Hz, 250 Hz, or 500 Hz) determines the channel update time and common mode rejection. You must select a filter frequency that matches your AC line frequency to provide the highest noise rejection.
 
Lead Wire Resistance Constraints:For 3-wire RTD configurations, the module compensates for lead wire resistance if all three leads are of equal length and material. To maintain specified accuracy, the maximum lead wire resistance must not exceed 25 ohms for any single wire. 
 
Sensor Failure Diagnostics:The 1746-NR4 provides continuous diagnostics for open-circuit and short-circuit conditions. When a failure is detected, the module sets the corresponding error bit in the channel status word, which can be configured to drive the input data to a safe state (upscale or downscale).
