The 1766-L32BWAA is a programmable logic controller (PLC) in the MicroLogix 1400 series, applicable for small to medium-sized industrial automation applications. Powered by 100–240V AC, the controller includes 10 KB of user program memory and 10 KB of user data memory for storing ladder logic programs and operating data.

This controller includes 32 points of digital I/O and 6 channels of embedded analog I/O. The hardware interfaces consist of 20 points of 24V DC digital inputs, which are 12 fast inputs and 8 standard inputs, 12 mechanical relay digital outputs, 4 channels of 0-10V DC analog voltage inputs with 12-bit resolution, and 2 channels of 0-10V DC analog voltage outputs with 12-bit resolution. In addition, this hardware device integrates 1 10/100 EtherNet/IP ethernet port, 1 isolated RS-232/RS-485 combo serial port, 1 non-isolated RS-232C serial port, and a backlit LCD screen and operation keypad.

When using the 1766-L32BWAA, the embedded analog channels only support 0-10V DC voltage signals, requiring external 500-ohm resistors for 4-20mA inputs. Because the device uses 100-240V AC power, high-voltage AC terminals must be strictly separated from 24V DC digital input terminals during wiring.
Additionally, the 12 digital outputs are mechanical relays, which are unsuitable for high-frequency switching and require surge suppressors when connecting inductive loads to protect contacts.
