 When using the 1794-IT8 module, it must be plugged into a dedicated terminal base with Cold Junction Compensation (CJC)—strongly recommended 1794-TB3T—otherwise, severe temperature measurement deviations will occur. Since the channels are non-isolated, field thermocouple probes must be properly insulated and grounded against noise to prevent ground loop currents from damaging internal chips. Additionally, when performing Removal and Insertion Under Power (RIUP), ensure the latching mechanism is securely locked and the external 24V DC power is stable to avoid communication disruptions caused by transient electrical arcing.
