3601E

The 3601E is a TMR digital-output module with 16 non-commoned, optically isolated points. The Tricon backplane delivers each processor-channel command to the module, whose voter circuitry produces the output to a separate external termination panel. Field power is supplied at each termination point; the module is mechanically keyed for its configured chassis location and supports a hot spare in the documented architecture.

For 3601E, the product guide specifies 115 V AC nominal, an 80–155 V AC operating range and 47–63 Hz. Each point is rated at a maximum 2 A, with 12 A surge per cycle. A 3 A fast-acting fuse belongs at each field termination. The 3601E point-isolation figure is 1500 V DC; the higher 2500 V DC figure in the shared table is explicitly marked for 3601T.

A voltage-loopback circuit checks output-switch behavior against the command, and the LOAD/FUSE indication reports a field-voltage mismatch. PASS, FAULT and ACTIVE show module status; an indicated channel fault calls for diagnosis and does not alone prove complete module failure. Assess the 2 mA maximum load leakage and 4 mA chassis leakage at 60 Hz when selecting sensitive field devices.
