The IC200CHS022L is a versatile box-style I/O carrier. This unit provides 36 IEC box-style terminals for secure field wiring, accommodating a single I/O module to ensure reliable signal connections and system data communication.
Side-Mating Bus Connectors: Couples carriers directly to establish backplane communication
Heavy-Duty Electrical Capacity: Operates up to 2 A per channel with a maximum voltage rating of 264 V AC
36-Position IEC Box Terminals: Allocates 32 points for I/O routing and 4 points for common/power ties
The carrier establishes high-speed, low-loss physical cascading with adjacent hardware through slider-type gold finger connectors on both sides, automatically extending the internal parallel data bus to subsequent channel modules. The electrical pins inside the carrier and the terminal blocks are interconnected via heavy copper printed circuit boards, maintaining extremely low temperature rise and internal resistance even under long-term conditions of 2 A continuous high current and 264 V AC continuous high voltage.
The lower portion of the carrier features dual-sided self-locking polycarbonate clips that snap directly onto standard 35 mm DIN rails, or it can be bolted to metal mounting backplanes via pre-drilled holes, satisfying mechanical rigidity standards for anti-vibration and anti-drop protection in harsh industrial environments.
The mechanical keying dials at the top consist of two independent rotatable dials, A and B. When a specific module is first inserted, the dials interlock into position. If a different module with conflicting voltage or signal types is mistakenly inserted later, the physical slots create hard interference to block seating, preventing high-voltage backfeeding into the main control system due to incorrect module placement.

Lithium-ion Battery Manufacturing Industry
Used to secure and connect high-density digital I/O in distributed control networks (such as Profibus/Profinet nodes) of coating and electrolyte injection machines.
Rubber and Plastics Machinery Industry
Carriers high-voltage (up to 264V AC) heater solenoid valve control output modules in the side control cabinets of injection molding and rubber vulcanizing machines.
When using the IC200CHS022L carrier, you must adhere to its maximum electrical limits, ensuring no more than 2 A per point and that total current complies with backplane ratings. Due to its compact box-style structure, field wiring must strictly follow wire gauge specifications, which is AWG #22 to #14 for single wires, with properly torqued screw terminals to prevent stripping or loose connections.
Before inserting an I/O module, you must manually verify and correctly set the mechanical keying dials; never force a mismatched module onto the carrier or hot-plug it without verification, as this can cause high-voltage backfeeding and destroy the main control system.
The IC200CHS022 produced by Emerson Automation is a versatile I/O carrier within the Versamax product family and was formerly manufactured by GE Fanuc.
