Overview Manuals Common Applications Product Precautions
The 74712-01-10-02-00 is a two-wire Seismoprobe velocity transducer used to measure absolute bearing housing, casing, or structural vibration. Utilizing moving-coil technology, this self-generating unit provides a voltage output directly proportional to vibration velocity without requiring external power.
    • High-Temperature Resilience
    • Shock Resistance & False Trip Prevention
    • Stable Low-Frequency Response
Moving-coil transducers are inherently less sensitive to impact or impulsive excitation than solid-state transducers, making them highly reliable against false trips. Specifically configured for vertical mounting (01 option) with a 10-foot top-mount integral hardline cable (10-02 option), this 74712 variant operates reliably in harsh, high-temperature industrial environments up to +204°C.

Bently Nevada™ Seismoprobe Velocity Transducer Systems are designed to measure absolute (relative to free space) bearing housing, casing, or structural vibration. The two-wire systems consist of a transducer and appropriate cable.

The Seismoprobe family of velocity transducers is a two-wire design that uses moving-coil technology. It provides a voltage output directly proportional to the transducer's vibration velocity. Moving-coil transducers are less sensitive to impact or impulsive excitation than solid-state velocity transducers, which are inherently accelerometers with embedded integration electronics.

Moving-coil transducers are less sensitive to impact or impulsive excitation and can represent a good choice for certain applications. Because they don’t require external power, they are convenient for portable measurement applications.

Power Generation
Monitors absolute vibration of large steam turbine bearing housings to prevent catastrophic mechanical failures caused by rotor unbalance.

Oil & Gas
Measures casing vibration of natural gas compressors along long-distance pipelines to ensure stable transmission pressure.

Petrochemical
Provides continuous vibration monitoring for large blowers in high-temperature catalytic cracking units to prevent unplanned shutdowns.

Iron & Steel
Monitors bearing vibration of blast furnace blowers and dust extraction fans under high-temperature and high-dust conditions.

Hydropower
Installed on upper and lower guide bearing housings of hydro-generator units to monitor mechanical vibration caused by hydraulic unbalance.

Pulp & Paper
Monitors vibration of paper machine dryer section drive gearboxes and bearings, with the transducer enduring on-site high-temperature steam.
The transducer must be vertically installed (0±2.5°) with a rigid base, avoiding impacts on the casing. Keep it away from strong alternating magnetic fields due to its moving-coil mechanism, and regularly check the coil DC resistance between pins A and B (approx. 1.25 kΩ). Do not bend or scrape the integral cable during wiring, and prevent steam or liquid from submerging the connection point in high-temperature environments up to 204°C.
