Overview Manuals Common Applications Product Precautions
The 330910-00-08-50-01-05 is an unarmored non-contact eddy current proximity probe belonging to the 3300 NSv Transducer System family. Based on the selected part number options, the physical housing utilizes imperial 3/8-24 UNF case threads with an unthreaded length of 0.8 inches and an overall case length of 5.0 inches. The integrated pigtail coaxial cable features a total length of 1.0 metre and terminates in a miniature ClickLoc connector equipped with a factory-installed connector protector.
    • Axial (thrust) position measurements
    • Tachometer and zero speed measurements
    • Phase reference (Keyphasor signals)
The 3300 XL NSv Transducer System design allows it to replace both the 3300 RAM Transducer Systems and the 3000-series or 7000-series 190 Transducer System. Upgrades from the 3300 RAM system to the 3300 XL NSv system may use the existing probe, extension cable, and monitoring system with 3300 XL NSv Proximitor Sensor. Upgrades from the 3000-series or 7000-series Transducer System must replace the probe, extension cable, and Proximitor Sensor with NSv components. The 3300 XL NSv Transducer System has an Average Scale Factor of 7.87 V/mm (200 mV/mil), which is the most common output for eddy current transducers. Its enhanced side view and small target characteristics give it a shorter linear range than the Bently Nevada 3300 XL-series 5 and 8 mm Transducer System.

The 1.5 mm (60 mils) of linear range exceeds the linear range of the 3000-series 190 Transducer System. The sensor tip is manufactured with polyphenylene sulfide material providing increased chemical resistance for process compressor environments. Mechanical bonding between the probe tip and the metal body is achieved via the TipLoc molding process, while the CableLoc anchoring design provides a pull strength threshold of 220 N to secure the cable attachment.

All system interconnections utilize gold-plated brass ClickLoc connectors designed to lock mechanically into place to prevent transmission loop loosening. The inclusion of connector protectors blocks liquid ingress into the coaxial junction to secure underlying signal chain continuity.

Thermal Power Generation
Mounted on the radial bearing housings of steam turbine auxiliary drain pumps to measure non-contact shaft vibration and transfer signals directly to the Proximitor.

Petroleum Refining
Locked onto the shaft area of high-pressure feed pumps in hydrocracking units to continuously monitor axial thrust displacement during high-speed operation.

Hydroelectric Power Plants
Threaded via 3/8-24 UNF threads into the guide bearing caps of horizontal hydro-generators to directly acquire the radial runout of the main generator shaft.

Air Separation Plants
Installed inside tapped holes outside the high-speed bearings of turboexpanders in air separation units, routing physical signals to external control cabinets via the 5.0m integral cable.

Iron & Steel Smelting
Fixed to the turbine shaft ends of blast furnace Top Gas Recovery Turbine (TRT) units for long-term tracking of machine shaft keyphasor (speed) pulses.

Cement Manufacturing
Deployed at the high-speed input bearings of high-power gearboxes matched with vertical raw material mills to measure the dynamic physical runout of gear shafts.
When installing and maintaining the 330910-00-08-50-01-05, ensure that its 5.0-meter integral cable connects directly to a dedicated 5.0-meter system Proximitor, cutting, splicing, or adding intermediate extension cables is strictly prohibited.

With power applied, rotate the fully threaded case to calibrate the static DC bias voltage (gap voltage) between the probe tip and the shaft surface to the linear midpoint near -10 Vdc. Once the coaxial connectors are mated, they must be sealed with a dedicated heat-shrink sleeve and secured inside a junction box, while ensuring the cable bend radius is no less than 25.4 mm and the hydrostatic pressure on the probe tip does not exceed 700 kPa.

Technical notes

Technical notes

Because the integral cable configured under the -50 option is already 5.0 meters long, the hardware must be linked directly to a 5.0-meter system-length 3300 NSv Proximitor module; the installation of intermediate extension cables is strictly prohibited.

FAQS

  • What kind of device is 330910-00-08-50-01-05?
330910-00-08-50-01-05 is a non-contact eddy current proximity probe belonging to the Bently Nevada 3300 NSv series, primarily used to measure dynamic and static gap variations on small-diameter shaft systems of rotating machinery.
  • How do you use a product like 330910-00-08-50-01-05?
The probe must be rigidly screwed and fixed into a dedicated mounting hole on the machine casing or bearing housing via its integrated threads, aligning the probe tip perpendicularly to the measured shaft surface, and then connected to an extension cable and Proximitor/transmitter via its coaxial connector.
  • What are the primary measurement applications of 330910-00-08-50-01-05 on industrial sites?
It is primarily applied to measure relative shaft vibration, axial position, and Keyphasor speed signals on rotating machinery shaft systems.
  • Can 330910-00-08-50-01-05 be mixed with 3300 XL series Proximitors?
No, it cannot. The probe belongs to the 3300 NSv series, and its coil impedance and electrical characteristics are calibrated specifically for 3300 NSv Proximitors or 990 transmitters; mixing them will cause severe non-linear measurement errors.
  • Can 330910-00-08-50-01-05 operate inside high-temperature, oily bearing housings?
Yes, it can. The probe case features a hermetic encapsulation, and the probe tip is constructed from chemically resistant polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) material, allowing long-term operation in environments filled with industrial lubricants and temperatures up to +177°C.
