The 3300 XL 8 mm system delivers the most advanced performance in our eddy current proximity transducer systems. The standard 3300 XL 8 mm 5-meter system also fully complies with the American Petroleum Institute’s (API) 670 Standard for mechanical configuration, linear range, accuracy, and temperature stability. All 3300 XL 8 mm proximity transducer systems provide this level of performance and support complete interchangeability of probes, extension cables, and Proximitor sensors, eliminating the need to match or bench calibrate individual components.

Monitoring axial position (thrust gap) of steam turbine generator sets. Since thrust bearing damage can lead to catastrophic rotor-stator contact, the displacement data provided by the probe is the core basis for emergency trip protection.

Used for Keyphasor and speed measurement on critical process pumps and extruders.
Water & Wastewater
Monitoring shaft eccentricity of large vertical water pumps. It detects shaft bow during startup to prevent severe vibrations at high speeds that could damage sealing systems.
Pulp & Paper
Monitoring differential expansion of large rollers in the paper machine drying section. It ensures the expansion difference between the rotor and casing remains within safe limits during high-temperature drying.
The probe must be installed at the center of its linear range. Use a multimeter to adjust the Gap Voltage to approximately -10.0 VDC (roughly 1.27mm gap) to ensure accurate measurement. Use metal conduits to protect cables and route them away from power lines to avoid EMI. Ensure connectors are insulated from the machine housing to prevent ground loops.
The target shaft surface must be smooth and demagnetized. Surface defects or magnetic spots will cause "Electrical Runout," leading to false vibration readings.
