Information
- Bently Nevada 330851-01-000-030-10-00-05. The 3300 XL 25 mm probe observes a turbine rotor collar or ramp in a differential-expansion measurement system.
Probe-case material: AISI 304 stainless steel
Probe lead: 75 Ω triaxial, PFA-insulated FluidLoc cable
Matched-system output: 0.787 V/mm (20 mV/mil)
Options 10/00/05 select a 1.0 m integral lead, no optional separate armor and multiple approvals. The 25 mm probe and extension cable use high-temperature ClickLoc connectors. A complete 5 m or 9 m system also requires its matching extension cable and 25 mm Proximitor sensor; only that calibrated system has the nominal 0.787 V/mm (20 mV/mil) output and 12.7 mm (500 mil) linear range.
Differential expansion is measured with two transducers viewing a rotor collar or ramp away from the thrust bearing. Same-side collar mounting gives redundant readings; opposite-side mounting increases measurable travel; a ramp can cover longer movement with compensation and added measurement error. Choose the arrangement from target size and expected axial travel, then move the mounted system through its linear range to verify response.

Bently Nevada 330851-01-000-030-10-00-05 installation guide
Prepared by Apter Power - PDF, 5 pages. Installation checks, fitting and lead routing, commissioning and verification.
Compatibility scope: Use a matched 25 mm probe, extension cable and Proximitor with the approved differential-expansion monitor. The 1 1/4-12 case thread, 3.0 in case and 1.0 m lead must fit the installed bracket and target geometry.
-
Same-side collar measurement
A pair of probes observing the same side of a collar can provide differential-expansion measurements with the redundancy available in the configured monitor. Each probe requires its own verified target and gap. -
Opposite-side collar measurement
A complementary probe arrangement can observe the opposing collar faces as rotor and casing move relative to one another. The monitor calculation must match that mechanical arrangement. -
Ramp-target measurement
A documented ramp target can translate greater axial travel into the probe measurement range. Target slope and cross-axis movement limits determine the usable travel. -
Turbine monitoring integration
The 25 mm sensing tip is intended for a matched differential-expansion transducer chain. Probe placement and monitor scaling must follow the turbine measurement design.
Isolate the turbine and secure the probe bracket before moving the sensor. Record the original collar or ramp position and installed gap.
Confirm the 1 1/4-12 mount and locknut against the fitted adapter. Prevent bracket movement that could change the gap during operation.
Compare expected axial travel with the target width or ramp geometry. Check clearances at both ends of travel before tightening the probe.
Keep the high-temperature ClickLoc connection clean, dry and free of mechanical strain. Route the 1.0 m lead away from damage and heat beyond its approved rating.
Use the specified 25 mm extension cable and Proximitor combination. Do not transfer scaling from an 8 mm or NSv channel.
Set the gap with the target at the prescribed reference position. Verify channel output and direction of indicated differential expansion over the approved movement check.
