Overview Manuals Common Applications Product Precautions
The 330130-045-01-CN is an 8mm Proximity Probe within the 3300 XL series. As a non-contact displacement sensor, it measures radial vibration, axial position, and speed in rotating machinery. This model features a total length of 4.5 meters and is standardly calibrated for AISI 4140 steel.
    • One 3300 XL 8 mm probe
    • One 3300 XL extension cable
    • One 3300 XL Proximitor Sensor
The 3300 XL 8 mm system delivers the most advanced performance in our eddy current proximity transducer systems. The standard 3300 XL 8 mm 5-meter system also fully complies with the American Petroleum Institute’s (API) 670 Standard for mechanical configuration, linear range, accuracy, and temperature stability.

All 3300 XL 8 mm proximity transducer systems provide this level of performance and support complete interchangeability of probes, extension cables, and Proximitor sensors, eliminating the need to match or bench calibrate individual components. Each 3300 XL 8 mm Transducer System component is backward compatible and interchangeable with other non XL 3300 series 5 mm and 8 mm transducer system components. This compatibility includes the 3300 5 mm probe, for applications in which an 8 mm probe is too large for the available mounting space.

Oil & Gas
Monitoring radial vibration of critical centrifugal compressors and turbine drivers in refineries to prevent unscheduled shutdowns.

Metallurgy & Steel
Controlling AC solenoid valves on blast furnaces or hot rolling lines to regulate cooling water, pneumatic pushers, and heavy mechanical brakes in high-temperature environments.

Power Generation
Monitoring bearing vibration in gas turbines and large industrial motors to ensure long-term stability of power systems.

Nuclear Power
Used for shaft condition monitoring of feed pumps, circulating pumps, and main turbines in the conventional island, meeting high-reliability safety standards.

Steel & Metallurgy
Vibration monitoring for blast furnace blowers and large exhaust fans to prevent bearing damage from overload or imbalance.

Water & Wastewater
Monitoring shaft runout in large vertical or horizontal water pumps to prevent excessive mechanical vibration from impeller wear.
The target area must be at least 1.5 times the probe diameter. A surface that is too small will cause "edge effects," reducing the measurement sensitivity.Set the installation gap to the linear midpoint (typically -10V DC). This ensures sufficient "headroom" for both positive and negative shaft movements. Keep coaxial connectors bone-dry and clean. Use heat-shrink tubing to seal connections, as oil or moisture infiltration will cause significant signal noise. The system length (probe + extension cable) must match the Proximitor’s requirements (typically 5m or 9m). An incorrect total length will lead to calibration errors.

Technical notes

Technical notes

The Bently Nevada 330130-045-01-CN is a 4.5-meter stainless steel armored extension cable designed for the 3300 XL 8mm proximity transducer system, compliant with Chinese explosive protection certifications . The system provides an output voltage directly proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the observed conductive surface, enabling precise measurement of both static and dynamic values. It is primarily applied for vibration and position measurements on fluid-film bearing machines, as well as Keyphasor reference and speed measurements.

FAQS

  • What exactly is the 330130-045-01-CN?
It is an armored extension cable within the Bently Nevada 3300 XL 8mm eddy current proximity transducer system, where the "CN" suffix designates specific agency approvals tailored for the Chinese market.
  • What is the core function of the 330130-045-01-CN in the system?
It serves as a critical communication bridge between the proximity probe and the Proximitor sensor, reliably transmitting the raw signal which is directly proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the observed conductive surface.
  • How is the 330130-045-01-CN used?
It is threaded into a machine casing, pointed directly at the shaft. The tail is connected to a Proximitor, which converts gap changes into electrical signals for the monitoring system.
  • What should be noted when using the 330130-045-01-CN?
Ensure the installation gap voltage is set at the center of the linear range (typically around -10V DC) and keep all connectors dry.
  • Why does this model have a -CN suffix?
The suffix is typically used to meet Chinese market access requirements, such as NEPSI explosion-proof certification for safety in hazardous environments.
