The Bently Nevada 102044-00-48-10-05 is designed for precise non-contact measurement in industrial monitoring and control applications. It detects the distance or position of conductive targets by sensing changes in the electromagnetic field, allowing accurate measurement of shaft displacement and vibration in rotating machinery.
- Proximity Sensor
- Stable signal output for monitoring systems
- Rugged design for industrial environments
As a non-contact sensor based on the principle of eddy current, this probe performs excellently within a linear range of 2.0 mm (80 mil). It has been standardized and calibrated for AISI 4140 steel, with a standard output sensitivity of 7.87 V/mm (200 mV/mil).

This is the physical basis of the sensor. The coil at the head of the probe generates a high-frequency electromagnetic field:
Non contact measurement: When a metal conductor (such as a shaft) approaches, eddy currents are generated on the surface, consuming electromagnetic field energy.
Linear conversion: The preamplifier detects this energy loss and converts it into a DC voltage signal proportional to the gap.
High frequency response: capable of capturing small vibrations (displacements) at extremely high speeds, suitable for monitoring shaft vibrations, shaft displacements, and speeds.
