The T8240 is a core power shelf within the Trusted Power System, with its “T8240” designation clearly establishing its foundational carrier role in the T824X series. This 19‑inch, 1U standard shelf is specifically designed to house T8231 or T8232 power packs, forming a complete modular power architecture alongside the T8235 shield and T8243 diagnostic interface.
- Compact 1U 3-Slot Design
- N+1 Power Redundancy
- Remote Fault Monitoring
The T8240 delivers up to 2250 W of total output power within a 1U form factor, supporting N+1 redundant configurations and multi‑shelf stacking. Its integrated Power Port diagnostic interface simplifies power pack status monitoring into unified dry contact outputs, while hot‑swappable power packs and mechanically retained AC input connectors ensure long‑term reliability in industrial vibration environments.

The T8240 Power Shelf serves as the foundational 19-inch x 1U chassis for the Trusted™ Power System, designed to house up to three Power Packs (T8231/T8232). This modular design allows for a versatile power density, providing up to 1500 W of N+1 redundant power or a maximum of 2250 W total power per single shelf depending on the specific module configuration.
For larger industrial applications requiring massive power output, the system supports a 4U stacked-up assembly. By linking four shelves together, the system can scale up to support 12 Power Packs, delivering a combined output of up to 9000 W. This scalability ensures that the T8240 can meet the growing energy demands of complex TMR (Triple Modular Redundancy) control environments without increasing the system's footprint significantly.
Engineered for the most demanding factory environments, the T8240 features a robust mechanical outline with a width of 483 mm (19 in) and a shallow depth of 340 mm, facilitating easy integration into standard industrial cabinets. It operates reliably across a wide temperature range of 0°C to +60°C and is built to handle non-condensing relative humidity from 10% to 95%, ensuring continuous uptime in diverse climates.
The shelf also incorporates advanced connectivity for fault monitoring and management. It includes an optional 25-pin D-type interface connector on the back for remote monitoring of AC/DC fail alarms and over-temperature signals for each individual Power Pack. Furthermore, it supports the TC-323 ribbon cable interconnect, which enables active current sharing between shelves and connection to a Power Controller for live voltage adjustment.
