The 330104-00-24-50-02-00 is an industrial-grade eddy current proximity transducer probe manufactured by Bently Nevada, USA. Belonging to the renowned 3300 XL 8mm series, this component is primarily used for online vibration monitoring of industrial rotating machinery, such as steam turbines and compressors.
High-Precision Linear Range
Wide Frequency Response
Extreme Environmental Ruggedness
The 3300 XL 8 mm system delivers the most advanced performance in our eddy current proximity transducer systems. This standard 3300 XL 8 mm 5-meter system also fully complies with the American Petroleum Institute’s (API) 670 Standard for mechanical configuration, linear range, accuracy, and temperature stability.
All 3300 XL 8 mm proximity transducer systems provide this level of performance and support complete interchangeability of probes and Proximitor sensors, eliminating the need to match or bench calibrate individual components. Each 3300 XL 8 mm Transducer System component is backward compatible and interchangeable with other non-XL 3300 series 5 mm and 8 mm transducer system components. This compatibility includes the 3300 5 mm probe, for applications in which an 8 mm probe is too large for the available mounting space.

Thermal Power
Continuous monitoring of radial vibration and axial thrust position of large steam turbine-generator shafts to prevent rotor-to-stator rubbing.
Hydroelectric Power
Monitoring the eccentric shaft swing (runout) and thrust bearing clearance variations in large vertical or horizontal hydro-generator units.
Oil & Gas
Providing precision bearing protection for heavy-duty high-pressure water injection pumps or gas export equipment on offshore platforms or onshore fracking sites.
Petrochemical & Refining
Monitoring micron-level shaft orbit changes in core high-speed turbine-driven compressors within ethylene cracking or catalytic cracking units to prevent catastrophic shutdowns.
Iron, Steel & Metallurgy
Monitoring rotor vibration of blast furnace blowers and Top Gas Recovery Turbine (TRT) units to ensure continuous and safe air supply to ironmaking lines.
Nuclear Power
Condition monitoring of conventional island massive steam turbines and reactor coolant pumps, requiring exceptional long-term temperature stability and high reliability.
When using the 330104-00-24-50-02-00 probe, special attention must be paid to the mechanical protection of its 240mm extended case. Double nuts must be used to lock the threads, and you should avoid overtightening by sticking to the recommended torque of 11.2 N·m to prevent distortion of the long stainless steel case. During routing, never pull the cable forcefully or bend it without conduit protection, making sure the minimum bend radius is at least 25.4mm.
Meanwhile, field personnel must pay close attention to the electrical matching of its 5-meter integrated long cable. Since this specific model features a 5-meter full-length cable, no intermediate extension cable should ever be added in the field. Its terminal connector must connect directly and exclusively to a 5-meter system Proximitor Sensor, meaning the Proximitor cable length option must be 50, otherwise the system output sensitivity will be severely distorted.
The system provides an output voltage that is directly proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the observed conductive surface (calibrated to AISI 4140 steel as default), delivering a standard scale factor of 7.87 V/mm (200 mV/mil). It is engineered to measure both static (position/gap) and dynamic (vibration) values. The system’s primary applications are vibration and position measurements on fluid-film bearing machines, as well as Keyphasor reference and speed measurements on critical rotating machinery. For electrical connectivity, the probe is uniquely built with an integrated 5.0-meter (16.4 ft) low-loss coaxial cable (nominal DC resistance of approx. 7.95 ± 0.55 Ω). The cable terminates in a miniature ClickLoc coaxial connector. This long integrated cable design eliminates the need for an intermediate extension cable, allowing direct coupling into a 5-meter 3300 XL Proximitor Sensor, which significantly reduces the risk of signal attenuation or joint contamination. Carrying no special hazardous area certifications (-00 option), it fully complies with API 670 standards for machinery protection and supports seamless, bench-calibration-free interchangeability.
It is an industrial-grade eddy current proximity transducer probe, used for high-precision, non-contact measurement of displacement, vibration, and speed of rotating machinery shafts.
How to correctly use a proximity probe like 330104-00-24-50-02-00?
It is threaded into a mounting bracket or deep housing. Since it features an integrated 5.0m cable, it connects directly to a 5-metre Proximitor Sensor without an extension cable.
What is the recommended mounting torque for 330104-00-24-50-02-00?
For this M10×1 threaded case, the recommended installation torque is 11.2 N·m (100 in·lbf), with a maximum limit of 22.6 N·m.
Does replacing a 330104-00-24-50-02-00 require bench recalibration?
No. The 3300 XL series features complete interchangeability, allowing direct replacement with a new probe of identical specifications without affecting system accuracy.
In what temperature environment can the 330104-00-24-50-02-00 operate?
The probe and cable are rated for continuous operation under extreme industrial temperatures ranging from -52°C to +177°C (-62°F to +350°F).
