The 330104-00-05-05-02-00 is a 3300 XL series 8mm eddy current proximity transducer probe manufactured by Bently Nevada (a Baker Hughes business), a global expert in machinery condition monitoring. This probe is an industrial-grade, high-precision, non-contact measurement sensor.
One 3300 XL 8 mm probe
One 3300 XL extension cable
One 3300 XL Proximitor Sensor
The 3300 XL 8 mm system delivers the most advanced performance in our eddy current proximity transducer systems. The standard 3300 XL 8 mm 5-meter system also fully complies with the American Petroleum Institute’s (API) 670 Standard for mechanical configuration, linear range, accuracy, and temperature stability.
All 3300 XL 8 mm proximity transducer systems provide this level of performance and support complete interchangeability of probes, extension cables, and Proximitor sensors, eliminating the need to match or bench calibrate individual components. Each 3300 XL 8 mm Transducer System component is backward compatible and interchangeable with other non XL 3300 series 5 mm and 8 mm transducer system components. This compatibility includes the 3300 5 mm probe, for applications in which an 8 mm probe is too large for the available mounting space.

Power Generation
Monitoring shaft vibration in gas or steam turbines to prevent rotor-stator contact by tracking axial displacement in real-time.
Oil & Gas
Installed on the bearing housings of centrifugal compressors. The armored cable resists oil corrosion, ensuring stable operation in flammable and explosive environments.
Petrochemical & Refining
Monitoring radial vibration in critical process pumps to detect anomalies before total bearing failure, preventing chemical leak risks.
Steel & Metallurgy
Controlling the speed and vibration of blast furnace blowers and large exhaust fans. The armor layer provides essential physical protection in dusty and impact-prone environments.
Mining & Minerals
Monitoring gearboxes in large ball mills and conveyors. It detects bearing clearance changes to reduce expensive unplanned downtime in mines.
Marine & Maritime
Used for vibration analysis of main propulsion shafting systems. It protects ship power systems in continuous vibration and high-humidity salt spray environments.
During installation, you must monitor the Gap Voltage using a multimeter. Typically, -10V DC is the ideal center point for the linear range. If the gap is too small, the rotor may destroy the probe; if too large, the signal will become non-linear and inaccurate.Although equipped with Stainless Steel Armor, the internal coaxial cable is still sensitive to sharp bends. Maintain a minimum bend radius of 25.4mm (1 inch) to prevent damage to the internal shielding and signal interference.
The system provides an output voltage that is directly proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the observed conductive surface (calibrated to AISI 4140 steel as default), offering a standard scale factor of 7.87 V/mm (200 mV/mil). It is engineered to measure both static (position/gap) and dynamic (vibration) values. The system’s primary applications are vibration and position measurements on fluid-film bearing machines, as well as Keyphasor reference and speed measurements on critical rotating machinery. For electrical connectivity, the probe is built with a 0.5-meter (1.6 ft) low-loss coaxial cable, exhibiting a nominal DC resistance of approximately 7.45 ± 0.50 Ω. The cable terminates in a ClickLoc miniature coaxial connector, specifically designed to couple with a 4.5-meter extension cable to form a standard 5-meter system connected to the Proximitor Sensor. This model carries no special environmental/hazardous area certifications (-00 option), fully complies with API 670 standards for machinery protection, and supports seamless interchangeability without bench recalibration.
330104-00-05-05-02-00 is a 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Transducer.
What is the working principle of 330104-00-05-05-02-00?
It operates on the eddy current principle, measuring distances by inducing eddy currents on a metal surface.
How to use a proximity probe like 330104-00-05-05-02-00?
It is mounted near the shaft, connecting via a Bently extension cable to a Proximitor sensor for outputting vibration/position signals.
What material is the tip of 330104-00-05-05-02-00 made of?
The tip is molded from Polyphenylene Sulfide (PPS), offering high chemical and wear resistance.
How to maintain and inspect 330104-00-05-05-02-00 during daily operations?
Ensure stable mounting, keep the tip clean, and verify connection integrity, with a nominal DC resistance of approx. 7.45 ± 0.50 Ω.
