The 1756-OB16E is a ControlLogix 24V DC electronically fused, sourcing discrete output module. This module mounts in any slot of a ControlLogix chassis and requires a Removable Terminal Block (RTB), or 1492 interface module (IFM) mounted on a DIN rail, to connect all field-side wiring.

The 1756-OB16E module provides 16 points with electronic fusing per point to protect the module from short-circuit and over-current conditions. In Program mode, each point can also be configured to hold last state, on, or off (default).
 
Certain modules (1756-OB8EI, 1756-OB16D, 1756-OB16E, 1756-OB16IEF, 1756-OB16IEFS, 1756-OV16E, 1756-OV32E) provide electronic fusing per point. Other modules are not protected; the use of a fused IFM is recommended to protect outputs.Module keying is electronic and software configurable. RTB keying is user-defined mechanical.
