The 330850-90-05 is an 11mm Proximity Probe within the 3300 XL series. It is a non-contact sensor designed to measure vibration, displacement, or speed in rotating machinery.

High-Temperature Resistance
The 3300 XL 25 mm Transducer System consists of a separate 25 mm probe, an extension cable, and a 3300 XL 25 mm Proximitor Sensor. The 0.787 V/mm (20 mV/mil) output gives this system a linear range of 12.7 mm (500 mils). Based on this linear range, the 3300 XL 25 mm Transducer System is suitable for measuring differential expansion (DE) on mid size to large steam turbine generators caused by the difference in growth rates between the turbine rotor and the machine stator (casing).

The minimum target diameter must be larger than that of an 8mm probe. If the target surface is too small, the magnetic field will "spill over," causing non-linear readings.Maintain adequate side clearance when mounting in a counterbore. Probes must also be spaced apart to prevent cross-talk (interference between adjacent magnetic fields).The probe must be used with a matching 11mm Proximitor. Connecting it to an 8mm Proximitor will result in an incorrect scale factor, leading to inaccurate data.
What is the difference between this 11mm probe and an 8mm probe?
The 11mm probe has a wider linear range (typically 4mm or 160 mils) compared to the 8mm probe (2mm or 80 mils), making it suitable for larger machinery with greater displacement.
How to properly use or install the 330850-90-05?
Install it on a bracket pointing at the shaft. Monitor the output voltage with a multimeter and adjust the gap until the voltage reaches the linear midpoint (e.g., approx -10V DC), then tighten the locknut.
What equipment is required to work with the 330850-90-05?
It must be connected to a 3300 XL Proximitor and an extension cable, eventually feeding into a 3500 or 3300 monitoring system.
