The 330102-00-40-90-11-05 is a 3300 XL 8mm eddy current proximity probe manufactured by Bently Nevada, USA. It is an important sensor in rotating machinery condition monitoring systems, mainly used to measure shaft vibration and axial displacement of large rotating machinery.
Stainless steel armor protection
Accurately captures ultra-wideband signals from 0 Hz to 10 kHz
The connection withstands up to 330 Newtons tensile strength
The 3300 XL 8 mm system delivers the most advanced performance in our eddy current proximity transducer systems. The standard 3300 XL 8 mm 5-meter system also fully complies with the American Petroleum Institute’s (API) 670 Standard for mechanical configuration, linear range, accuracy, and temperature stability.
All 3300 XL 8 mm proximity transducer systems provide this level of performance and support complete interchangeability of probes, extension cables, and Proximitor sensors, eliminating the need to match or bench calibrate individual components. Each 3300 XL 8 mm Transducer System component is backward compatible and interchangeable with other non XL 3300 series 5 mm and 8 mm transducer system components. This compatibility includes the 3300 5 mm probe, for applications in which an 8 mm probe is too large for the available mounting space.

Thermal Power
Utilizing the 4.0-inch long case to penetrate the ultra-thick double casings of steam turbines, accurately measuring the axial thrust displacement of large high-pressure rotors.
Petrochemical
Penetrating the thick-walled sealing chambers of high-power centrifugal compressors (such as ethylene compressors) to monitor the orbit and shaft vibration of the high-speed main shaft in real time.
Hydroelectric Power
Deeply embedded inside the guide bearings of hydroelectric turbine-generator units to measure the large radial swing (runout) of the main shaft under large-amplitude, low-frequency conditions.
Coal Chemical Industry
Installed on the outside of cylinders in large reciprocating compressors of coal gasification plants, penetrating the thickened guide sleeves to monitor rod drop and cross-head displacement.
Nuclear Power
Utilizing the stainless steel armor and long case to penetrate the thick protective shrouds of conventional island main feedwater pumps, monitoring the fluid oil film clearance of high-reliability bearings.
Paper and Pulp Industry
Penetrating the thickened end-cover housings of heavy press rolls or drying cylinders to measure the dynamic balance and thermal expansion displacement of multi-bearing linked systems under high humidity and temperature.
Since this model features a 4.0-inch long case, ensure the probe tip is vertically aligned and kept away from stray metal interference during deep-hole installation. Avoid over-tensioning or sharply bending the armored cable, and always keep the coaxial connectors clean and dry.
Because this model has a fixed 9.0-meter total system length, it must be connected directly to a dedicated 9.0m 3300 XL Proximitor. Never cut the cable or append any extension cable, as this will cause signal distortion or complete system failure.
The system utilizes the Bently Nevada 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Probe (Model: 330102-00-40-90-11-05). The system provides an output voltage that is directly proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the observed conductive surface and can measure both static (position) and dynamic (vibration) values. This specific configuration features a reverse mount design with a 4.0-inch overall case length (0.0-inch unthreaded length) and is designed for a 9.0-meter total system length. It utilizes FluidLoc fluid-sealing technology with robust stainless steel armor protection, and complies with Multiple Agency Approvals (05) for hazardous area operations. The system’s primary applications are vibration and position measurements on fluid-film bearing machines, as well as Keyphasor reference and speed measurements.
It is a 3300 XL series 8mm reverse-mount proximity transducer probe manufactured by Bently Nevada.
What is the working principle of the 330102-00-40-90-11-05?
It utilizes the eddy current principle to measure the gap changes between the probe tip and a metal surface through a high-frequency electromagnetic field.
What are the primary applications of the 330102-00-40-90-11-05?
It is primarily used for radial shaft vibration measurement, axial position monitoring, and speed or Keyphasor measurement on large rotating machinery.
How to properly install and use a reverse-mount probe like the 330102-00-40-90-11-05?
The probe needs to be installed from the inside of the machine bearing housing outwards, typically using a dedicated reverse-mount sleeve or bracket.
Can the cable of the 330102-00-40-90-11-05 be cut to fit the site length?
Absolutely not. Altering the cable length will directly cause signal distortion or complete system failure.
