The 3300 XL 8 mm system delivers the most advanced performance in our eddy current proximity transducer systems. The standard 3300 XL 8 mm 5-meter system also fully complies with the American Petroleum Institute’s (API) 670 Standard for mechanical configuration, linear range, accuracy, and temperature stability. All 3300 XL 8 mm proximity transducer systems provide this level of performance and support complete interchangeability of probes, extension cables, and Proximitor sensors, eliminating the need to match or bench calibrate individual components. Each 3300 XL 8 mm Transducer System component is backward compatible and interchangeable with other non XL 3300 series 5 mm and 8 mm transducer system components. This compatibility includes the 3300 5 mm probe, for applications in which an 8 mm probe is too large for the available mounting space.

Thermal Power
Used on the HP or IP cylinder bearing housings of 1,000 MW ultra-supercritical steam turbines. Due to the extremely thick double-shell casing and insulation, the 5.1-inch unthreaded front allows it to smoothly pass through thick walls to perform high-precision, non-contact shaft radial vibration measurements.

Oil Refining
Used on high-pressure heavy crude oil circulation pumps or feed pumps in hydrocracking units. Since the pump casing is extremely thick for pressure retention, the probe passes through the deep hole close to the journal bearing to safely monitor dynamic oil-film runout in flammable gas zones under its -05 explosion-proof approval.

Gas Pipeline
Installed on large gas turbines at main long-distance natural gas pipeline booster stations. Because gas turbines feature thick acoustic-thermal enclosures and heavy cast bearing housings, this ultra-long probe easily penetrates the outer wall to capture speed and Keyphaser phase signals at extreme rotational speeds.

Steel & Iron
Used on the heavy-duty centrifugal axial blower bearing housings within blast furnace air-supply systems. The ultra-long stainless steel probe case bypasses complex external cooling jackets and thick walls, providing early vibration warnings for critical bearings in highly contaminated environments full of iron dust.

 When operating this probe, it must be strictly paired with a Bently Nevada 3300 XL 8mm extension cable and Proximitor sensor while ensuring the total system length is electrically matched. Due to its long 5.1-inch unthreaded length, proper extended brackets or deep-sleeve mounting must be used to strictly control the initial installation gap between the probe tip and the target shaft. Additionally, the connector protector must be securely installed to prevent oil and moisture ingress, and intrinsic safety grounding regulations must be rigidly followed when deployed in hazardous areas.
