Overview Manuals Common Applications Product Precautions
The 330101-00-24-10-12-05 is a 3300 XL 8mm proximity probe manufactured by Bentley Nevada Corporation, USA. It is primarily used for vibration monitoring and shaft displacement measurement in industrial rotating machinery.
    • One 3300 XL 8 mm probe
    • One 3300 XL extension cable
    • One 3300 XL Proximitor Sensor
The 3300 XL 8 mm system delivers the most advanced performance in our eddy current proximity transducer systems. The standard 3300 XL 8 mm 5-meter system also fully complies with the American Petroleum Institute’s (API) 670 Standard for mechanical configuration, linear range, accuracy, and temperature stability. All 3300 XL 8 mm proximity transducer systems provide this level of performance and support complete interchangeability of probes, extension cables, and Proximitor sensors, eliminating the need to match or bench calibrate individual components. Each 3300 XL 8 mm Transducer System component is backward compatible and interchangeable with other non XL 3300 series 5 mm and 8 mm transducer system components. This compatibility includes the 3300 5 mm probe, for applications in which an 8 mm probe is too large for the available mounting space.

Thermal Power
Used to monitor the radial vibration and thrust position of the main shaft in large steam turbines, preventing collisions between high-speed rotating impellers and the casing.

Petroleum Refining Industry
Deployed on atmospheric and vacuum distillation bottom pumps and large heavy-oil pumps in catalytic cracking units to monitor shaft mechanical runout in real-time, preventing bearing damage caused by pump cavitation or overload.

Nuclear Power
Used in the conventional island of nuclear power plants to monitor the eccentricity and runout of main feedwater pumps and 1,000 MW-class steam turbine-generator sets, ensuring shaft safety during startup and shutdown phases.

Hydroelectric Power
Installed on the upper guide, lower guide, and thrust bearings of hydro generators. Although hydro turbines operate at lower speeds, the probe accurately captures low-frequency shaft orbit caused by hydraulic imbalance.

Rail Transit
Used as a high-precision sensor for dynamic shaft displacement and speed measurement on high-power traction motor R&D test beds for high-speed trains, evaluating mechanical stability under simulated extreme speeds.

When using the 330101-00-24-10-12-05 probe, the core focus lies in "precise calibration, hazardous area isolation, and impedance protection". First, the initial installation gap must be strictly calibrated to the center voltage using a multimeter, and at least 3mm of metal-free clearance must be maintained around the probe tip to eliminate side effects. Since this model carries agency approvals, it must be paired with safety barriers or intrinsically safe Proximitors in hazardous areas. Meanwhile, during routing, never over-bend the cable (bending radius > 25.4 mm), never cut or splice the signal wire, and ensure the ClickLoc connector is clean and fully locked to completely eliminate impedance mismatch and electromagnetic interference (EMI).

FAQS

  • What is the 330101-00-24-10-12-05 product?
It is a 3300 XL series 8mm proximity probe manufactured by Bently Nevada. It is a non-contact, precision measurement tool used to monitor shaft vibration, axial displacement, and speed of industrial rotating machinery.
  • What is the primary operating principle of 330101-00-24-10-12-05?
It operates based on the eddy current principle. The probe tip emits a high-frequency electromagnetic field. When a metallic shaft surface approaches, eddy currents are generated, causing a change in coil impedance. This change is converted into a voltage signal proportional to the gap.
  • How do you use a product like 330101-00-24-10-12-05?
It is installed on the machine's bearing housing via its threads, oriented perpendicularly or at an angle toward the target metallic shaft. The cable connects to a Proximitor Sensor, which sends the signal to a monitoring system like Bently Nevada 3500.
  • In which industrial sectors can the 330101-00-24-10-12-05 be used?
It is widely used in heavy industries with large, high-speed rotating machinery, including power generation (steam turbines), oil & gas, refining/petrochemicals, metallurgy, water treatment, and large-scale mining.
  • How do you calibrate the installation gap when installing 330101-00-24-10-12-05?
While the machine is at rest, screw in the probe and use a multimeter to measure the Proximitor's output voltage. Lock the mounting nut when the voltage reaches the Bently standard middle voltage (typically around -10 VDC, corresponding to ~1.0 mm physical gap).
