The 28 probe option selects 3300 XL 8 mm probe with selectable approvals; option 05 supplies a 0.5 m lead. Match the probe and extension cable to the installed 3300 XL 8 mm transducer system before assigning measurement performance. The installed 3300 XL 8 mm system converts the probe-to-target gap into a proportional voltage for static position or dynamic vibration measurement. With a matched standard 1 m or 5 m system, the manufacturer specifies a 2 mm linear range and 7.87 V/mm nominal scale factor; these are complete-system values, not ratings of the housing alone.

Option 20 specifies 2.0 in standoff adapter, and 040 specifies 4.0 in probe penetration. Their selected C plus D reach is 6 in. Establish the final probe gap from the machine drawing and the transducer procedure. A 304 stainless steel sleeve carries the reverse-mounted probe through the casing. The probe lead must exceed the sleeve length, and sleeves longer than 304 mm (12 in) need additional support to limit vibration of the unsupported sleeve.

Option 03 identifies plug, reducer and cable seal grip; option 02 identifies 3/4-14 NPT mounting thread. The conduit entry, sealing arrangement and case interface must match these selected pieces. The all-metal assembly uses a screw-on dome cover, conduit ports, O-rings and a thread seal around the probe sleeve. The 21000 body is aluminum; the 24701 body is 303 stainless steel. The housing family meets API 670 requirements for externally mounted proximity probe housings; any hazardous-area approval depends on the approved complete configuration.
