The DPM200 is a high-performance PROFIBUS DP Master/Slave fieldbus module manufactured by Bachmann electronic GmbH, Austria. Designed for seamless insertion into the M1 controller backplane, it is widely utilized in large-scale mechanical and plant engineering applications to establish reliable deterministic industrial communication networks.

PROFIBUS is a field bus that is widely used, particularly in the area of mechanical engineering and plant engineering and even today – in spite of all Ethernet-based fieldbuses – it continues to show increasing quantities. A broad palette of peripheral components and an active user organization will also ensure long-term availability of PROFIBUS components in the future. Bachmann electronic offers a fieldbus module for the backplane that can be used both as master, as well as slave. The SolutionCenter contains a complete configurator that enables interfaces to the engineering tools of other manufacturers through the consistent application of standards. The fieldbus module DPMP200 for PROFIBUS DP (Distributed Peripherals) can be operated as DP master, DP slave or as combined master/slave, which in a multi-master network offers variables for another master. The process data is available to the application program as logical I/O module and thus can be reached via the process image or via the function interface.

 To ensure measurement accuracy and prevent damage, verify your power configuration first, use a split power supply for the standard DPM 200, while the single-rail DPM 200S can share a 0V reference with its own power supply. Strictly adhere to the standard full-scale input limit of ±200mV DC and always use external scaling resistors for higher voltages to avoid burning out the CMOS ICs. When soldering connections onto the pins, use a low-wattage iron and limit heat contact to 2–3 seconds to protect internal circuits, and ensure the module is safely mounted within its precise 68.0 mm x 33.0 mm panel cutout.
