The Yokogawa ET5*B is a microprocessor-based universal thermocouple input signal conditioner card used with YS1000 Series instruments. It accepts thermocouple types B, E, J, K, T, R, S and N and provides configurable engineering units, zero, span and upscale/downscale/off burnout behavior.
The card provides two isolated 1–5 V DC outputs and operates from 24 V DC ±10%. It mounts in the specified signal-conditioner nest, connects to field wiring through M4 screw terminals and uses the dedicated connector/backboard arrangement.
Product status: the official Yokogawa sources reviewed do not publish a formal discontinuation notice, discontinuation date or one-for-one successor for ET5*B. Confirm current supply and lifecycle status with Yokogawa for the exact suffix.
Direct thermocouple input for Yokogawa YS1000 Series single-loop control and monitoring instruments.
Temperature measurement using B, E, J, K, T, R, S or N thermocouples with selectable °C, °F or K engineering units.
Process applications requiring isolated signal conditioning, two 1–5 V DC outputs, configurable zero and span, and selectable upscale or downscale burnout behavior.
Typical use includes temperature monitoring and control in industrial process, utility and equipment-control panels where the installed YS instrument and signal-conditioner nest support ET5*B.
Connect the reference-junction-compensation sensor to the specified CN6 mating connector; an omitted connection can cause ambient-temperature offset and incorrect readings. Confirm thermocouple type, polarity, extension wire, range, engineering units and burnout direction. Use only the compatible signal-conditioner nest, special cable and M4 terminals. Operate at 0 to 50°C, 5 to 90% RH non-condensing and 24 V DC ±10%. Do not treat another card as a complete replacement until output, supply, nest interface, RJC wiring, isolation and configuration compatibility are verified.
