At the recent 4th Global Digital Trade Expo in Hangzhou, Yokogawa Electric made a high-impact debut under the theme “Crossing Seas, Co‑creating Tomorrow.” Celebrating its 60th year in China, the company used the platform to highlight innovations across automation, smart manufacturing, life sciences, digital transformation, and clean energy. Through immersive exhibits and collaborative showcases, Yokogawa painted a clear vision of future industrial autonomy.
Core Solutions for Smarter Factories
Yokogawa’s exhibit featured its flagship hardware and software offerings aimed at modern production systems. Among them were intelligent field instruments, the newly released CENTUM VP R7 distributed control system, and the Prosafe‑SLS safety instrumentation suite. The R7 marks a tenth-generation evolution, symbolizing half a century of the CENTUM lineage. The VoF (Value of Factory) framework stood out by fusing environmental, energy, safety, and equipment metrics via AI models, allowing plant performance to self-optimize and support ESG targets.
Enabling Digital Transformation via Emerging Technologies
A key draw was Yokogawa’s demonstration of how OT meets IT, with technologies like IoT, AI, robotics, and digital twins. The Robot Management Core (RMC) system was shown in tandem with a four‑legged robot to simulate intelligent plant coordination. Meanwhile, the MOM (Manufacturing Operations Management) platform was promoted for its modular design, enabling agile deployments that bridge business operations and IT structures. Together, these systems reflect Yokogawa’s “system-of-systems” (SoS) vision for integrated industrial ecosystems.
Cultivating Smart Bioprocesses
With China's biotech sector rapidly evolving, Yokogawa positioned itself as a partner for lab automation and life science scale-up. Exhibits included fully automated high-content analysis systems and cloud-driven digital transformation for laboratory and manufacturing workflows. These solutions span from R&D settings to commercial production, leveraging AI and cloud platforms to harmonize lab output, improve data reliability, and accelerate commercialization.
Insights for Energy, Assets, and Sustainability
Aligned with goals of carbon neutrality, well-being, and circular industry, Yokogawa unveiled its Asset Health Insight (AHI) tool and BaxEnergy platform. AHI offers real-time monitoring and preemptive fault detection, while BaxEnergy supports the lifecycle management of renewable energy assets. Together, they help businesses enhance energy performance, reduce emissions, and advance toward sustainable industrial operations.
