The 330194-05-13-50-05 is a high-performance 8mm eddy current probe from Bently Nevada, featuring a 5.0-meter integrated cable design. Utilizing TipLoc head molding and CableLoc tensile technology, this product ensures physical reliability in extreme environments, providing a standard sensitivity of 7.87 V/mm for accurate measurement of shaft vibration and displacement.
One 3300 XL 8 mm probe
One 3300 XL extension cable
One 3300 XL Proximitor Sensor
The system provides an output voltage that is directly proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the observed conductive surface and can measure both static (position) and dynamic (vibration) values. The system’s primary applications are vibration and position measurements on fluid-film bearing machines, as well as Keyphasor reference and speed measurements. The 3300 XL 8 mm system delivers the most advanced performance in our eddy current proximity transducer systems. The standard 3300 XL 8 mm 5-meter system also fully complies with the American Petroleum Institute’s (API) 670 Standard for mechanical configuration, linear range, accuracy, and temperature stability. All 3300 XL 8 mm proximity transducer systems provide this level of performance and support complete interchangeability of probes, extension cables, and Proximitor sensors, eliminating the need to match or bench calibrate individual components.

When using the 330194-05-13-50-05 probe, the most critical aspect is ensuring that the entire system length matches the certification. Since this model comes with a 5.0-meter cable and has -05 explosion-proof certification in multiple countries, it must be directly connected to a 3300 XL preamplifier with a rated length of 5.0 meters during installation. Arbitrary cutting of the cable or mixing of non-explosion-proof components is strictly prohibited.
For physical installation, the initial gap should be locked at the -10VDC linear center point using a voltage method, ensuring sufficient clearance around the probe to eliminate sidewall interference. Simultaneously, the demagnetization status and material of the measured shaft surface must be carefully checked, and junction boxes in hazardous areas must be strictly sealed to ensure signal accuracy and safety in explosion-proof environments.
This is a Reverse Mount Eddy Current Proximity Probe.
What is the actual purpose of 330194-05-13-50-05?
Through non-contact precision electromagnetic induction, the physical motion of machinery is converted into electrical signals, providing real-time monitoring, fault diagnosis, and failure protection for large rotating equipment.
How to use 330194-05-13-50-05 to measure vibration?
The probe is secured to a bracket near the bearing housing with the tip facing the rotating shaft. As the shaft vibrates slightly during operation, the gap between the tip and the shaft changes. A Proximitor then converts this physical displacement into high-frequency voltage signals.
What is the sensing principle of 330194-05-13-50-05?
It utilizes the Eddy Current effect. The probe coil generates a high-frequency magnetic field. When the metal shaft approaches, it causes eddy current losses, which change the circuit's impedance. This change maintains a strict linear relationship with the distance between the probe and the metal surface.
What must be used alongside 330194-05-13-50-05?
It must be paired with a 3300 XL Proximitor Sensor. The Proximitor not only powers the probe but also decodes the complex impedance signals into a standard voltage output (typically 200 mV/mil or 7.87 V/mm).
