Overview Manuals Common Applications Product Precautions
The 330101-00-32-05-01-05 is an unarmored 3/8-24 UNF threaded probe. It features a 3.2-inch case thread length, a 0.5-meter total length, and a 3/8-24 threaded coaxial connector, with hazardous area approvals and safety certifications from multiple countries.
    • One 3300 XL 8 mm probe
    • One 3300 XL extension cable
    • One 3300 XL Proximitor Sensor
When integrated into a complete 3300 XL 8 mm system, the transducer provides an output voltage that is directly proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the observed conductive surface. It measures both static (position) and dynamic (vibration) values. The system’s primary applications are vibration and position measurements on fluid-film bearing machines, as well as Keyphasor reference and speed measurements.

The 3300 XL 8 mm system delivers the most advanced performance in eddy current proximity transducer systems. The standard 3300 XL 8 mm 5-meter system (formed by pairing this 0.5-meter probe with a 4.5-meter extension cable) fully complies with the American Petroleum Institute’s (API) 670 Standard for mechanical configuration, linear range, accuracy, and temperature stability.

All 3300 XL 8 mm proximity transducer systems provide this level of performance and support complete interchangeability of probes, extension cables, and Proximitor sensors, eliminating the need to match or bench calibrate individual components. Each 3300 XL 8 mm Transducer System component is backward compatible and interchangeable with other non-XL 3300 series 5 mm and 8 mm transducer system components. This compatibility includes the 3300 5 mm probe, for applications in which an 8 mm probe is too large for the available mounting space.

Power Generation Industry
Monitors shaft vibration and axial displacement of large steam and gas turbines to prevent rotor-to-stator rubs caused by severe load variations.

Petrochemical & Refining Industry
Monitors high-temperature cracked gas compressors handling hazardous and flammable media, providing early warning of bearing wear through dynamic vibration monitoring.

Coal Chemical Industry
Performs Keyphasor phase references and speed measurements on large centrifugal air compressors within high-pressure, high-flow coal gasification air separation units.

Steel & Metallurgical Industry
Monitors fluid-film bearing stability of blast furnace blowers and Top Gas Recovery Turbine (TRT) power units to avoid catastrophic melting losses from unplanned downtime.

Hydropower & Water Conservancy Industry
Installed on upper, lower, and turbine guide bearings of large hydro-generator units to monitor rotor swing (vibration) and shaft axial thermal growth.

Cement & Building Materials Industry
Monitors bearing vibration of critical high-temperature exhaust and induced draft fans in cement clinker production lines to prevent bearing seizure and total line shutdown under extreme heat.
The 330101-00-32-05-01-05 probe features a relatively long 3.2-inch metal case, requiring special care during field installation to avoid localized stress deformation of the case, and the static gap voltage must be precisely adjusted to the linear center zone of approximately minus 10 volts DC before being firmly secured with a locknut.

When routing cables, proper connection must be made via the integral polarized miniature coaxial connector, paired with a connector protector to completely isolate external oil contamination, guaranteeing signal transmission quality across a wide operating temperature range from minus 51 degrees Celsius to 177 degrees Celsius.

Additionally, the shaft measurement surface must be kept smooth and completely free of scratches, dirt, and residual magnetism to prevent mechanical and electrical runout errors from interfering with the system's micron-level vibration and displacement monitoring.

FAQS

  • What is 330101-00-32-05-01-05?
    330101-00-32-05-01-05 is a 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Probe.
  • How does the 330101-00-32-05-01-05 operate?
The probe tip emits a high-frequency electromagnetic field. When it approaches a conductive metal surface, eddy currents are generated. The transducer system then outputs a voltage signal that is directly proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the observed surface.
  • What parameters does the 330101-00-32-05-01-05 primarily measure?
It can measure both static values (position/axial displacement) and dynamic values (shaft vibration). It is also widely used for Keyphasor® phase reference and rotational speed measurements.
  • On what types of equipment should the 330101-00-32-05-01-05 be used?
It is primarily installed on heavy rotating machinery utilizing fluid-film bearings (sleeve bearings), such as steam turbines, industrial compressors, large fans, pumps, generators, and gearboxes.
  • Can the 330101-00-32-05-01-05 be directly connected to a data acquisition system on its own?
No. It must be paired with a 3300 XL Extension Cable and a 3300 XL Proximitor Sensor to form a complete three-piece transducer system to function properly.
