This product holds multiple hazardous area certifications, including CSA, ATEX, and IECEx. Its operating and storage temperature ranges from -51°C to +177°C, and under specific intrinsically safe circuit conditions, its temperature classification spans from T1 to T5. In field operations, the probe must connect to a matching 3300 XL Proximitor Sensor, which supplies a high-frequency excitation signal to generate an electromagnetic field around the Polyphenylene Sulfide (PPS) plastic probe tip.

When the target metallic shaft surface experiences displacement or vibration, it generates eddy currents on the shaft surface, causing a linear change in the system's impedance. The Proximitor converts this variation into a continuous voltage signal with a nominal incremental scale factor of 7.87 V/mm (200 mV/mil), delivering data to continuous monitoring systems for tracking radial shaft vibration, axial position (thrust), and Keyphasor speed on rotating machinery like centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, pumps, and blowers.
