Overview Manuals Common Applications Product Precautions
The 21000-34-10-00-054-04-02 is a 21000 series proximity probe assembly manufactured by Bently Nevada. This series is specifically designed for external mounting on rotating machinery and is a classic, highly reliable assembly for monitoring shaft vibration and displacement in industry.
    • A probe sleeve of optional length
    • A reverse mount proximity probe
    • Threaded ports for conduit connections
The 21000, 24701, and 164818 Proximity Probe Housing Assemblies are available with Canadian Standards Association (CSA) approvals. They are rated explosion proof for hazardous areas. You can order hazardous area approved proximity probes with 21000 aluminum and 24701 stainless steel housings for intrinsically safe applications. Both housings are certified as CSA Type 4 enclosures and are fully compliant with the American Petroleum Institute's (API) 670 Standard for externally mounted proximity probe housings. The 164818 Compact Proximity Probe Housing is also available for applications with space restrictions. Ceramic capped probes are available with the 164818 housing. Sleeve length is determined by the location in which the probe and housing are installed. The probe lead must be longer than the sleeve. Sleeve lengths longer than 304 mm (12 inches) require additional sleeve support to reduce the vibration associated with unsupported long sleeve lengths.

Natural Gas
Monitoring shaft speed and phase angle of drive units for dynamic balancing analysis.

Pulp & Paper
Monitoring the axial clearance of coned vacuum pump rotors by mounting on external end-caps.

Air Separation
Monitoring unbalance vibration caused by fouling on main air separation fans.

When using the 21000-34-10-00-054-04-02 probe, it is essential to ensure that the total system length strictly matches the Proximitor and extension cable. During installation, use a multimeter to precisely adjust the gap voltage to the midpoint of the linear range and ensure the stability of the external mount. Additionally, strictly adhere to the minimum bend radius of the cable, use connector protectors to prevent oil infiltration, and periodically inspect the probe tip for metal debris buildup to ensure long-term accuracy and stability in displacement monitoring.

FAQS

  • What is 21000-34-10-00-054-04-02?
It is a Bently Nevada 21000 series proximity probe assembly, typically used for external mounting to monitor shaft vibration or axial position.
  • What is the working principle of 21000-34-10-00-054-04-02?
It operates on the eddy current principle, converting the distance between the probe tip and the target metal into a proportional voltage signal.
  • Can 21000-34-10-00-054-04-02 withstand extreme temperatures?
Yes, it is designed for industrial environments and can typically operate in temperatures ranging from -35°C to +177°C.
  • What equipment must 21000-34-10-00-054-04-02 be paired with?
It must be used with a compatible Bently Nevada Proximitor Sensor (such as the 3300 XL) and a monitoring rack (like the 3500 System).
  • How to adjust the installation gap for 21000-34-10-00-054-04-02?
The gap is set by monitoring the DC Gap Voltage to ensure the probe is positioned at the center of its linear range.
