Overview Manuals Common Applications Product Precautions
ABB IMMPI01 is a Harmony Rack Multifunction Processor Interface Module that handles the I/O interface between a host computer and an INICT03A Computer Transfer Module. Despite its name, it is a communication interface, not the IMMFP process controller.
  • Function: Host-computer I/O interface for INICT03A
  • Ports: Two RS-232-C; one SCSI
  • RS-232-C mode: DCE or DTE, determined by exact configuration
  • Power: +5 VDC at 415 mA; approximately 2.1 W

The module passes host-computer data to and from INICT03A so the computer-transfer interface can exchange system information with the installed Harmony/Cnet architecture. For RS-232-C operation it can be configured as DCE or DTE. ABB documents two RS-232-C ports and one SCSI port, +5 VDC at 415 mA (about 2.1 W), and a ribbon-cable connection to INICT03A. RS-232-C field connection uses NTMP01, while the SCSI connector is on the module faceplate and does not use a termination unit. IMMPI01 is used in Cnet-to-computer interfaces, operator/information-system connections, maintenance workstations, and legacy INFI 90/Harmony computer-transfer installations. Exact host software, cable, handshake jumpers, DCE/DTE mode, firmware and cybersecurity controls must be verified.

Important Notice: Do not describe IMMPI01 as an IMMFP controller; it is a communications interface used with INICT03A.

Important Notice: The first link is the model-specific product-parameters PDF prepared only from the cited ABB official evidence; the second link is the Apter Power product information manual. Confirm the physical nameplate, current ABB documents, and host-system requirements before installation or replacement.

Cnet-to-computer interface
Provides the host-side I/O path for an INICT03A computer-transfer interface.
Operator/information-system connection
Moves system data to supported host applications through RS-232-C or SCSI.
Legacy host modernization
Preserves exact cable and port mapping during workstation replacement.
Communication diagnostics
Supports verified testing of host, INICT03A and system data paths.
Read and follow the exact ABB documentation and host-equipment instructions before work. Verify the complete physical nameplate and system configuration.
1
Update product ID 774765 in place and preserve the current public canonical.
2
Verify IMMPI01 rather than an IMMFP controller or INICT transfer module.
3
Back up host configuration, point mapping, drivers and interface settings.
4
Confirm INICT03A revision, ribbon cable, NTMP01, DCE/DTE mode and handshake jumpers.
5
Power down and follow ABB/site ESD and module insertion/removal procedures.
6
Do not hot-connect legacy SCSI or RS-232-C interfaces unless the exact ABB procedure permits it.
7
Test host communication, data direction, point mapping, alarms and system diagnostics before release.
8
Do not publish origin, HS code, dimensions, weight or present lifecycle without exact ABB evidence.

Technical notes

Technical notes

Do not describe IMMPI01 as an IMMFP controller; it is a communications interface used with INICT03A. Confirm INICT03A rather than INICT12, exact ribbon cable, NTMP01, port mode and host software. Do not use YIMMPI01 repair material as the base order code. Update existing ApterPower product ID 774765 at the current /Infi-90/immpi01 canonical; do not create a duplicate. Replace the existing unsourced Sweden, HS, weight and dimensions fields with HOLD unless exact ABB evidence is added. Lifecycle evidence boundary: HOLD - ABB includes YIMMPI01 in recent repair-service promotions, but no exact current formal IMMPI01 lifecycle phase was found

FAQS

  • What is ABB IMMPI01?
It is the host-computer interface module used with INICT03A.
  • Does an ApterPower record already exist?
Yes. Update product ID 774765 at the current IMMPI01 canonical.
  • Is IMMPI01 a process controller?
No. It is a communications interface.
  • Which companion module is required?
    ABB documents INICT03A.
  • Which host interfaces are supported?
    RS-232-C or SCSI.
  • How many RS-232-C ports are documented?
    Two.
  • How many SCSI ports are documented?
    One.
  • Can RS-232-C operate as DCE or DTE?
Yes, according to the exact configuration.
  • Which termination unit supports RS-232-C?
    NTMP01.
  • Does SCSI require that termination unit?
No. ABB places SCSI on the faceplate.
  • What power is documented?
    +5 VDC at 415 mA, approximately 2.1 W.
  • Is YIMMPI01 the base model?
No. It is a repair-service material.
