      The ABB FENA-21 is a 2-port Ethernet adapter module for drives (e.g., ACS880, ACS580, ACS355) supporting PROFINET IO, EtherNet/IP, and Modbus/TCP protocols. It enables daisy-chaining via two RJ45 ports and allows configuration through a web browser using the MAC address as a password.

      In terms of hardware configuration, the FENA-21 is equipped with a built-in Ethernet switch and two standard RJ-45 ports. This design supports flexible network topologies, allowing not only traditional star networks but also daisy-chaining between frequency converters.

      • What is the FENA-21 default password for the configuration web page?
        The user name is admin. The password is the last six digits of the MAC address of the module (found on the label) in upper case, without hyphens.
      • How do I install the FENA-21 module?
        Power down the drive, insert the module into the option slot, lock it, and fasten the screw to 0.8N.m(7.1lbf.in).
      • Which drives are compatible with FENA-21?
        It is compatible with ACS850, ACS355, ACSM1, ACS380, ACS480, ACS580, ACH580, ACQ580, ACS880, DCS880, and DCT880.
      • How do I apply changes to communication settings?
        After changing parameters in group 51, you must set parameter 51.27 (FBA A par refresh) to "Refresh" to activate the new settings.
      • What are the RJ-45 ports used for?
        They allow for a daisy-chain connection (line topology) or for connecting to a star topology Ethernet network.
      • What is the difference between FENA-11 and FENA-21?
