The IS220PDIOH1A discrete I/O pack is designed to mount directly onto a compatible Mark VIe terminal board via a high-density 37-pin connector, secured by two captive mounting screws that also establish the necessary chassis ground connection. 
 
When installing the pack, ensuring a firm mechanical seat is critical to maintain electrical integrity across the 28.0 V dc power pins and the discrete signal paths. The module draws its operating power through the terminal board and utilizes an internal electronic ID PROM to store hardware revision and serial number data, which is automatically queried by the controller upon startup for system configuration and tracking. 
 
Proper cabling of the two 10/100 Ethernet ports (ENET1 and ENET2) is required for redundant IONet communication, and the module’s health should be monitored through the front-panel LEDs, specifically the Status indicator which signals the execution of internal self-diagnostics. Maintenance personnel must observe the specified operating temperature limits of -30 to 65 °C and should verify the excitation voltage requirements, typically 24 V dc or 125 V dc, as defined by the specific terminal board coupled with the pack.
