Overview Manuals Common Applications Product Precautions
The 330102-25-40-10-02-05 is a 3300 XL 8mm eddy current proximity sensor probe manufactured by Bentley Nevada, USA. This product is a top-of-the-line non-contact condition monitoring element for industrial applications, specifically designed for critical protection monitoring of shaft vibration, shaft displacement, and speed in large rotating machinery.
    • One 3300 XL 8 mm probe
    • One 3300 XL extension cable
    • One 3300 XL Proximitor Sensor
The 3300 XL 8 mm system delivers the most advanced performance in our eddy current proximity transducer systems. The standard 3300 XL 8 mm 5-metre system also fully complies with the American Petroleum Institute’s (API) 670 Standard (4th Edition) for mechanical configuration, linear range, accuracy, and temperature stability. All 3300 XL 8 mm proximity transducer systems provide this level of performance and support complete interchangeability of probes, extension cables, and Proximitor sensors, eliminating the need to match or bench calibrate individual components. Each 3300 XL 8 mm Transducer System component is backward-compatible and interchangeable with other non-XL 3300 series 5 mm and 8 mm transducer system components. This compatibility includes the 3300 5 mm probe, for applications in which an 8 mm probe is too large for the available mounting space.

Thermal Power
Used for shaft monitoring in large steam turbine-generator sets. It measures axial displacement to prevent catastrophic rotor-to-stator contact caused by thermal expansion or load shifts, and monitors radial vibration to assess bearing wear.

Hydroelectric Power
Installed on the main shafts and thrust bearings of large hydro-turbine generator units. It primarily measures radial vibration, shaft runout, and thrust pad clearance to prevent structural damage caused by hydraulic unbalance.

Nuclear Power
Applied to the main steam turbines, main feedwater pumps, and reactor coolant pumps in the conventional island of nuclear power plants. Due to its high reliability and international safety certifications, it is used in high-standard safety-related or critical non-safety systems.

Pulp & Paper
Applied to paper machine dryer section drive trains, large wood refiners, and high-pressure boiler feedwater pumps. In environments with high temperature, high humidity, water vapor, and chemical agents, it monitors dynamic shaft vibration to prevent costly paper line breaks.

Oil & Gas
Applied to natural gas injection compressors and large oil transport pumps on offshore drilling platforms and onshore gas fields. In high-pressure, hazardous environments, it monitors radial shaft vibration to prevent mechanical seal failure or explosions caused by unbalance or misalignment.

When operating the 330102-25-40-10-02-05 probe, never pull or over-bend its coaxial cable (maintain a minimum bend radius of 25.4 mm). It must be paired with a dedicated 4-meter or 8-meter extension cable and Proximitor to strictly match a complete 5-meter or 9-meter system. During installation via the specialized reverse-mount sleeve, use a multimeter to precisely adjust the initial gap voltage to the linear midpoint (typically -10 Vdc) and lock it securely to prevent loosening or shaft rubbing during operation. Additionally, the mating ClickLoc connectors must be kept completely clean and oil-free, any contamination will lower isolation resistance, triggering signal spikes or false machine trips.

FAQS

  • What is 330102-25-40-10-02-05?
It is a non-contact eddy current displacement sensor probe.
  • What is the working principle of 330102-25-40-10-02-05?
Based on the eddy current effect, the high-frequency coil at the probe head generates an alternating magnetic field. When the metal shaft approaches, eddy currents are generated on the surface, causing a change in the probe impedance. This change is then converted into a voltage signal proportional to the gap by a preamplifier.
  • What parameters does 330102-25-40-10-02-05 measure?
Static parameters such as axial displacement (Thrust Position), dynamic parameters such as radial vibration, and key phase/speed monitoring.
  • How to properly install the 330102-25-40-10-02-05 probe?
The probe is aligned vertically or at a specific angle with the surface of the shaft being measured via a bracket. The initial mounting gap must be adjusted using a special tool. The optimal linear range midpoint is usually determined by measuring the DC gap voltage of the preamplifier (e.g., around -10 Vdc).
  • How to connect 330102-25-40-10-02-05 to the monitoring system?
The probe's own cable needs to be connected to the preamplifier via an extension cable, and then the preamplifier sends the signal to the 3500 monitoring frame or DCS system via a three-core shielded cable.
