The 3300/03-01-00 is a dual-monitor/keyphasor module in the 3300 series machinery protection system, used for asset protection and condition monitoring of critical rotating machinery. It is typically used in conjunction with the 3300 XL 8mm eddy current sensor system. This system complies with API 670 standards, and all components (probes, extension cables, preamplifiers) are fully interchangeable without requiring recalibration.

The System Monitor provides a Power-up Inhibit function. This function allows each monitor to inhibit its alarms during power-up or whenever a system supply voltage falls below its operating level. After power-up, the inhibit function remains active for approximately 2 seconds. When activated by a external contact closure this function places all monitors in bypass, disables all alarms, zero scales all outputs, and de-energizes the system OK relay.
The connections for this function are located on the power input module (PIM) at the rear of the rack. Seven LEDs located behind the front panel of the System Monitor are ON to indicate the voltage supplies are functioning. The voltage supplies are +VRH, +VRL, +7.5V, +5V, REF, -7.5V, and -VT. There is a green LED (SUPPLIES OK) on the front panel of the System Monitor. When this LED is on all of the voltage supplies are functional.

Nuclear Power
Used as a redundant monitoring measure for steam turbines and critical circulating water pumps in the conventional island of nuclear power plants.
Mining & Minerals
Used for monitoring drive motor bearings of large ball mills or feed pumps to prevent axial movement caused by wear.
Air Separation
Used on Main Air Compressors (MAC) in air separation plants to ensure shaft stability during high-speed rotation in cryogenic processes.
Offshore & Marine
Installed on power generators and water injection pumps on offshore platforms to handle mechanical load variations in harsh sea conditions.
Steel & Metallurgyr
Used for protecting blast furnace blowers, where axial displacement monitoring is critical to preventing catastrophic failure in massive machinery.
Petrochemical
Monitoring the shaft position of the "Big Three" compressors (Cracked Gas, Ethylene, and Propylene) in ethylene plants.
The proximity probe must be gapped correctly (typically -10V DC) when the shaft is at its mechanical zero position to ensure the monitor operates within its linear range.Ensure the direction of movement (Positive/Negative) is correctly configured to match the machine’s thrust direction; otherwise, the protection logic will fail.Always bypass the shutdown interlocks in the control system before performing maintenance or calibration to avoid an accidental machine trip.
The 3300/03-01-00 Dual Monitor/Keyphasor Module processes proximity transducer signals to output a voltage directly proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the conductive surface, enabling concurrent measurement of static position and dynamic vibration for fluid-film bearing machinery monitoring, displacement tracking, speed measurement, and Keyphasor reference. Technically, the module supports a standard scale factor of 7.87 V/mm (200 mV/mil), a 2.0 mm linear range, and a 0 to 10 kHz frequency response. It features an epoxy-sealed Alert relay (Option 01) and no agency approvals (Option 00), while integrating RS232/RS422 interfaces to support SDI and DDI protocol communications.
It is a Dual Channel Thrust Position Monitor within the Bently Nevada 3300 series.
What is the primary use of the 3300/03-01-00?
Its primary use is thrust position protection.
How does the 3300/03-01-00 receive and process signals?
It connects to two Proximitor sensors.
In which industries can the 3300/03-01-00 be used?
It is widely used in Power, Petrochemical, Steel, and Mining industries for any critical machinery with large turbines, centrifugal compressors, or high-power pumps.
How to install the 3300/03-01-00 in a 3300 rack?
The module is a plug-in card designed for any monitor slot in a 3300 rack. A corresponding I/O module must be installed on the rear of the rack for sensor inputs and relay outputs.
