      The 21000-00-00-40-040-02-02 is an external proximity probe housing assembly from the 21000 series, compliant with the American Petroleum Institute's (API) 670 Standard and certified as a CSA Type 4 explosion-proof enclosure for hazardous areas. Constructed from an aluminum main body and a 304 stainless steel sleeve, this configuration includes a 4.0-inch standoff adapter, a 4.0-inch probe penetration sleeve, and two 3/4-14 NPT explosion-proof electrical fittings (with one metal plug included). It utilizes a 3/4-14 NPT base thread for connection to the machine bearing housing or casing, and contains no proximity probe or extension cable.

      In industrial applications, this housing allows for the online insertion, extraction, replacement, or static gap adjustment of proximity probes simply by unscrewing the dome cover without requiring a machinery shutdown or system depressurization. The fully sealed construction ensures that internal coaxial connectors remain completely isolated from bearing housing oil mist, rain, and corrosive environmental media.

      The 21000 (aluminum) and 24701 (stainless steel) Proximity Probe Housing Assemblies are available with Canadian Standards Association (CSA) approvals for explosion-proof applications in hazardous areas. Both housings are fully compliant with the American Petroleum Institute's (API) 670 Standard for externally mounted proximity probe housings.

       For installation, ensure 5 to 7 turns of thread engagement on the 3/4-14 NPT thread and apply thread sealant to prevent loosening from machine vibration. When replacing probes, do not twist the internal coaxial cable, and inspect and grease the O-ring during cover reassembly to maintain the IP66 seal against water and oil mist. Periodically check the 4.0-inch standoff and sleeve mounting to prevent high-frequency vibration from the extended cantilever during operation.
