Information

Overview Manuals Common Applications Product Precautions
Bently Nevada 330881-28-07-155-06-02 lets the probe position be accessed and adjusted outside the machine while field wiring runs directly from the housing to the monitor.
  • Eliminates the separate extension cable between probe and conditioner.
  • Uses a conductive-fiber-reinforced PPS housing.
  • Provides a Type 4X/IP66 environmental enclosure.
  • Includes the NPT fitting and reducer arrangement selected by its 06 option.

The sleeve and retaining hardware support the probe independently of the field conduit. Route the cable and seal the conduit so that moisture cannot travel into the housing; the enclosure rating is not a process-pressure rating.

Important Notice: Check the actual gap after locking the probe sleeve, and keep the housing properly sealed before returning the channel to service.

Bently Nevada 330881-28-07-155-06-02 Official Technical Reference Excerpt (PDF)Bently Nevada 330881-28-07-155-06-02 Installation & Commissioning Guide (PDF)

The technical excerpt covers transducer construction and performance. The installation guide develops mounting, connection and signal-verification procedures for the selected assembly.

External probe adjustment
Access a radial or axial displacement probe from outside the machine case.
Local signal conditioning
Terminate the probe chain in the housing rather than a remote conditioner enclosure.
Exposed machine surfaces
Protect the sensing assembly with the specified weather-resistant housing.
Direct monitor wiring
Carry the conditioned voltage through shielded field wiring to the monitoring rack.
Protect the measuring target, cable path and electrical connections when installing Bently Nevada 330881-28-07-155-06-02.
1
Confirm the selected penetration and standoff match the installation drawing.
2
Use the 3/4-14 NPT mounting connection required by the standoff arrangement.
3
Support the sleeve without applying conduit load to the probe adjustment.
4
Apply the correct torque to each retaining component.
5
Seal unused entries with the supplied plugs and suitable seals.
6
Keep housing temperature within the conditioner operating limit.
7
Check the supply range against the installed barrier arrangement.
8
Verify the output through a controlled gap change after securing the sleeve.

Technical notes

The mounting thread is 3/4-14 NPT. The probe sleeve locknut and retaining nut have different recommended torques: 39.3 N·m and 29.5 N·m respectively.

FAQ View All FAQ

  • Where does 330881-28-07-155-06-02 convert the probe signal before sending it to the monitor?
The Proximitor sensor is integrated into the housing cover. It conditions the internal probe signal locally, so the external connection carries the conditioned output to the monitor.
  • What is the difference between the 70 mm standoff and 155 mm penetration on 330881-28-07-155-06-02?
The standoff separates the housing from the machine mounting surface. Penetration determines the probe reach into the machine. Check these two mounting requirements independently.
  • Which conduit interfaces are included in the 06 kit supplied with 330881-28-07-155-06-02?
The kit includes one 3/4-14 NPT fitting, a stainless-steel 3/4-14 NPT to 1/2-14 NPT reducer, and two plugs for unused entries.
  • Does the IP66 rating make 330881-28-07-155-06-02 a process-pressure enclosure?
No. IP66 addresses environmental ingress. The plastic housing does not resist internal or external process pressure, and the installation must safely contain a possible probe leak.
  • Can the cover-mounted electronics of 330881-28-07-155-06-02 operate at the probe limit of +177 °C?
No. The housing and Proximitor operating limit is +100 °C; the +177 °C limit applies to the probe. Assess the temperatures at both locations.
  • What supply range is required when safety barriers are used with 330881-28-07-155-06-02?
The barrier-equipped arrangement requires -23 to -26 V DC. Without barriers, the stated range is -17.5 to -26 V DC; a supply more positive than -23.5 V may reduce linear range.
  • How can water reach the interior of 330881-28-07-155-06-02 even when its cover is sealed?
Water can travel through the connected conduit. Inspect and seal the complete conduit path and unused entries, rather than relying only on the cover seal.
  • Which torque belongs to each retaining component of 330881-28-07-155-06-02?
Use the recommended 29.5 N·m for the retaining nut and 39.3 N·m for the probe sleeve locknut. The two values apply to different mechanical parts.
