The Yokogawa SB311-S1 is an ESB (Extended System Bus) Bus Interface Master Module designed for Centum XL and later Yokogawa DCS systems. It manages communication between the control station and node units, typically used in a dual-redundant configuration to ensure system reliability.
- SOE interface module
- High-speed capturing of events with one millisecond time stamp resolution
- SOE inputs are made available for use as control and or monitoring signals
SB311-S1 adopts a fully redundant hardware design. In actual deployment, it is usually installed in pairs in the processor card cage of the control station. When the main module detects internal circuit abnormalities or bus communication failures, the system will achieve microsecond level undisturbed switching without interfering with the current process flow, and the backup module will take over all bus management tasks.

Redundancy reliability: Supports Duplex configuration. In key processes, they are usually installed in pairs to ensure uninterrupted communication in case of single module failure.
Alternative: In FCS stations that require SOE functionality, SB311 directly replaces the standard SB301 interface card.
Compatibility: When used in conjunction with digital input modules such as Yokogawa's ADV151-E, a complete hardware level event recall system can be built.
