The DECS-250 DECS-250-LN1SN1N is a high-performance Digital Excitation Control System (AVR). Featuring a single-system configuration with vibration-resistant spring terminals, it supports 24/48 VDC logic power and Modbus TCP Ethernet communication. It delivers a 15A continuous (30A forcing) excitation output and integrates four control modes (AVR/FCR/var/PF) along with built-in limiters and oscillography, widely used for precise grid-paralleling and protection of medium-to-large synchronous generators.

The DECS-250N digital excitation control system offers high performance, high flexibility, and extreme reliability for brushless excited AC synchronous generators. The DECS-250N utilizes a 20-amp six-thyristor negative forcing output, providing exceptional system transient response. Multiple communication options and an optional integrated power system stabilizer make the DECS-250N a complete system solution in a reliable and cost effective package.
The DECS-250 is intended for synchronous generator applications where the DECS-250 controls the generator output through the application of regulated excitation power to the field. It provides regulated dc excitation power based on the monitored generator voltage and current and a regulation setpoint established by the user. Excitation power is supplied from the DECS-250 by means of a filtered, switching power module that uses pulse-width modulation. It is capable of supplying 15 Adc continuously at a nominal voltage of 32, 63, or 125 Vdc. With nominal operating power applied, it has a forcing capability of 30 Adc for 10 seconds. Device specific configurations, options, and operational characteristics are defined by a combination of letters and numbers that make up the style number printed on the device identification label.
